Inspiration what?!?

Recently there's been discussion on WedFACT about inspiration; where it's found and how to use it. I watch a lot of other studios' wedding films and clips to see what else is out there and yes, of course, to gather inspiration. But, I certainly don't limit myself to finding those things, moments, shots and techniques to just weddings. Let's face it, it's hard to be original in a sea of things that have already been done. But, what we can do is find those things that we like... The things that make us say, "Wow, that's really cool... I wish I had thought of that!" and use them in ways to push our own creativity further. So why limit oneself to just one style or genre, when there's a million places we can find this "inspiration"?

Of course coming from a photography background, photographs have always been a source for me. But, I also look to movies, commercials, television, design, painting and sculpture, and the everyday things surrounding me at all times. But most recently, I found a great deal of inspiration in the most unlikely of places... through the eyes of our four year old son. My husband set the camera on auto and handed my (well, mostly mine) brand new Lumix to our son. The following photos were taken by him with no aid from us. Needless to say, we were both pretty impressed and quite proud of our little man. Not only with his raw compositions but with his eagerness to find "beauty" in places that we might normally overlook. That's my boy! Beauty in the banal. I love it!
I now have one more photographer to add to my ever-expanding list of inspirational sources. So without further introduction, I present Owen's first foray into the photographic world. Images are clickable for a larger view.
